Magicard delivers new ID ‘Industry Standard’ with the Rio Pro 360

Rio Pro 360Magicard Ltd has today commenced shipment of its latest secure ID card printer, the Rio Pro 360, to dealers in the UK and Europe. Shipments to the US and other regions will commence shortly as the production line reaches full capacity to fulfil orders.

The Rio Pro 360 is an evolution of Magicard’s well-established Rio Pro platform. The new printer features faster print speeds and improved print quality but, in a revolutionary step over its predecessor, the Rio Pro 360 also includes Magicard’s innovative ‘LYNK’ module in what is the first application for this device. LYNK is a Linux-based module which enables seamless communication and the secure processing of ID data and offers potential for in-field upgrades as software enhancements are introduced.

The Rio Pro 360 is Magicard’s fastest printer to date. The entirely new electronics and software platform delivers significant performance improvements over comparable products from other manufacturers.

Key facts:

  • The Rio Pro 360 has the capability to create more vibrant and colour rich prints than ever before – which on an ID card means a truer representation of the subject
  • LYNK recognises USB2.0 High Speed & Ethernet and can integrate most third-party applications held locally or in the cloud
  • The Rio Pro 360 will integrate with existing network infrastructure ‘out of the box’, minimising set-up time and requiring limited technical knowledge making it quick and easy to get the printer up and running
  • The Rio Pro 360 has the ability to print an anti-fraud customised secure watermark on every card with LYNK enabling the secure online delivery of bespoke HoloKote watermarks direct to the printer
  • Where previously only one custom HoloKote design was available per printer, the Rio Pro 360 can store up to ten custom designs per machine
  • Single-sided full colour cards with HoloKote can be printed in less than 20 seconds with double-sided cards taking well under a minute to print
  • The Rio Pro 360 comes complete with both 100- and 200-card input hoppers giving users more flexibility and choice
